Extra battery?! Did you special order it, or are these amps coming with them now?

BTW, speaking of batteries, my amp finally died last night after powering my Sony MDR-7506's for 130+ hours and my new AKG K701's for 125+ hours straight. That's a total of 255+ hours on a single charge!! WOW!

@Chops
the extra battery was a special order. cost me less than USD$10

It seems like a great little amp for the long haul when you can't recharge. What are they selling for in the US?

Nevermind I saw the price from the information on the 1st page. $59 plus shipping is a almost free with what gas in many countries costs. It would cost more than that to fill my 4 wheel drive.

I just received my LDM+ last saturday, and man is it sweet! Gold color, and through my ATH-A700s, its almost too good for words. its been half a week, and after at least 50 hrs, its showing no signs of stopping. I would appreciate maybe a better mini to mini connector though, so if anyone knows any better ones, that would be great to know.

The laptop line out followed by the CDP and DAP respectively provided decreasing input level capabilities to the LDM+. The DAP ouputs only 20mV into 32ohms. I had to use about 90% of the DAP output with the LDM+ set to max to drive the Senns to loud listening levels. The CDP and laptop in combination with the LDM+ easily drove the HD580s with plenty of headroom to spare. So as speculated earlier in this thread it does take a specific minimum input to the LDM+ to handle the more difficult higher impedence cans. My Samsung YEPP DAP's output probably hovers at or near that minimum. But even with settings as cited the sound is crisp and clear which reflects well on the not fully burned in LDM+. The K81DJ and E2Cs were easily handled by the LDM+ with low to moderate input and moderate output level settings.

What I haven't done yet is to compare the LDM+ to my old Headroom Supreme and to the sources unamplified with each of my transducers. That said, I haven't found evidence of any overt coloration or frequency response skewing. The LDM+ thusfar doesn't seem to present a personality of its own. That's good These are but initial impressions of a newly received amp. As it settles in we'll see what the bottom line is
Okay, it's been several months and a lot of hours since I received the LDM+. It has proved to have been a very good investment as it works quite well with my modified HD580s hooked to my laptop. It may be heresy but aside from the spatial circuit in my 14 year old Headroom Supreme, I don't find a whole lot of differences. From my knothole that says a lot about the LDM+. So frankly the Supreme doesn't see much use as it resides plugged into AC power with my bedroom system that rarely calls for can use. Its bulk, especially with the external battery pack, long ago caused me to go portable with it less and less.

I don't use the LDM+ with my tiny DAP-K81DJ combo as (1) that rig is dedicated to the gym, (2) the DAP output drives the AKGs sufficiently, and (3) the extra bulk is unwanted in that environment. I must amend my earlier comments because as the LDM+ broke in I no longer needed to use as high an input level from my Samsung DAP. Go figure as I hadn't read any comments about this sort of thing before. My Shure's no longer see a lot of use since the AKGs were acquired either although I did find that again the little LDM+ worked quite well with them. I don't use either headphone amp and/or cans with my main stereo or home theater systems (described in the link in my signature block below). But darned if this inexpensive little amp doesn't make my laptop listening fun!

Been using the LDM+ close to 6 months now, the amp needs more juice on the low end other than that it's a great portable amp. The LDM+ really brings out the mids and highs if your a classical or vocal listener (or any genre related) but isn't that great for bassheads.

two of the screws on the bottom (where the AC plug is connected) just fell off. I think the teeth that that holds the screw snapped.

I just ordered the PK1 to pair w/ this amp as well. Kind of disapointed in the build quality. I thought it was fairly sturdy feeling initially and i did notice the screws that are tighted in a weird angle, but I gave the little dot the benefit of the doubt now now the latch on the amp is sort of left hanging (on by two of the remaining screws on the opposite side, the left)

I'm kind of worried that the debris that left inside the amp might actually damage the pcb or whater =[

Awesome, I'm hoping the LDM+ can provide enough juice for my 580's which are currently shipping (I've read in a 580 post that the LDM+ may not be enough).

the LDM+ comes in different gain versions so make sure u get the mid to high gain version if u are planning to drive HD580s. i have the unity gain LDM+ and can guarantee it WONT drive high (or even mid) impedance cans.

re. LDM+ SQ, i'd have to agree with SKYLABS portable review. IMO its better than the headout the a 5g ipod but thats about it.

I use the LDM+ with Shure E3C's and my Zune, it gives me a noticeably deeper low end and better spatial sound..

Anybody have experience with the LDM+ and the MS-2 or Ety ER-4s? From what I can gather, the LDM+ seems to go decently with the MS-1, but I remember there being some discussion about how the amp isn't so good with low impedance cans. Basically, is it worth amping these cans? I have an iAudio X5, so the quality is already pretty good.

Huge thread bump. Getting these tmr, a 2nd hand one. It is recommended to do a line out from my iPod touch or just do a headout?
