Status Update

I managed to arrange for a 5.5" sample to be shipped to me. I will feel MUCH better if I have a sample in my hands that I can tap and afix the panels before I place the order. That will serve as my sample tap. I also rejiggered the cuts, consolidating two 2 inch scraps into one 4 inch unit. I now have 53 units configured out of 6 one meter tubes. Total scrap will be 18mm, spread out over 6 tubes. Some lucky buyers will get an extra 2mm on their cases. Not bad....

I will now have three cases in reserve for lost shipments or stragglers, and possibly a fourth if the sample taps well. Due to a stupid visual error, my prior calculation was short one case, which was quickly sold to our first straggler, who managed to come in 4 hours after the bell! That is a confirmed case and it will reduce our cost by another $0.40 a case.

The price is slowly trending in the right direction.... down

The next hurdle is to get the RFP approved at the price I think I am paying.

Special note to Rickcr42: as I interpreted your last response, you are happy to have a case or two or not. Please let me know if you would like me to reserve one or two of the 3-4 "reserve" cases for you. It's completely up to you... I am happy to keep them in reserve and we got a good price, and I am equally happy to see you get a case(s).

Have a great weekend!
Neil

Status Update - Case Sample Received

I received a sample of the case today. I tapped it with a 4-40. Everything fits. So far so good. I will try to post some pictures, maybe this evening. The sample I received has raw edges, unlike some comments I saw on one of these threads. Finished edges may be an extra cost item that the recipient (unkowingly) paid for via whomever he purchasedc it. No big deal though, it can be blackened with a sharpie and in any event is not visible.

I will be posting payment instructions in the near future. I have never been on this end of paypal transactions (always a payor). I have to work out the details.

Regards,
Neil

Paypal INfo Request

All group buy participants. Please PM me with your Paypal address and your mailing address where the boards will be shipped.

Do not respond to this request, PM me. You do not want your paypal address publicized.

I do not have a business paypal address. Therefore I cannot accept credit card paypal transactions. It must come from your bank account. If this is a problem, please PM me. If there are enough participants with that problem, I may use my wife's account or some other means will be worked out. I would like to keep this clean and within my own paypal account.

I am going to try to do this with one paypal transaction, simply to avoid the work of the 2nd. One case will be a 1 lb shipment; 2 cases a 2 lb shipment.

Regards,
Neil

Second Call For Paypal Info

OK folks.... I have the quote from Bopla. I now have 8 of the 24 paypal ID's and shipping addresses that I need before I can bill and start receiving paypal money. Only then can I place the order. The ball is now your court (the 16 of you that have not provided paypal data).

Regards,
Neil

Status Update - Paypal Invoices Sent

I have just completed all of the paypal invoices. It is important to respond promptly to the invoice. I will not order the cases until all of the payments are made. Many thanks to those who paid while I was still rolling out the invoices!

For all USA orders, the invoices include an estimate for shipping. I reserve the right to submit a final bill for any unexpected expenses, or if anyone fails to follow through with payment. Any case that is not paid for will increase the cost of each case by about $0.40.

The cost of the case and screws came to $15.96 for a 4" case. The longer cases were billed an additional $3.00 per inch. The balance of the invoice includes USPS priority mail shipping, insurance and a $0.65 per case charge for supplies.

This is getting so serious that I even started to finalize my parts order last night

As of this morning, I am still waiting for 2 Paypals, plus two payments in the mail...total of 6 cases.. thanks to all who have paid. Reminders were sent out yesterday to the paypal stragglers.

Being a major holiday, this may not have been the best time to do this. Hopefully the stragglers were just traveling during the holiday.

Regards,
Neil
