Anybody hear any news on the Headamp AE-1 refresh?

Hello, just posting to ask if anyone has heard anything recent (within the last two weeks or so) about the new version of the AE-1? I've sent an email to Justin a few days ago, but he is not answering. That makes me think that he's VERY busy on something... as he usually gets back within 48 hours or so... anybody heard anything?

Phone call....

I called Justin on the phone 2 days ago,and theyre still working on it. They want to add a gain control for different headphones and whatnot....so give it time.

He's been working on the improvements since at least early November of last year. We want it now dammit, NOW!!

next month still the anticipated rollout of the "bring your amps back for a free refresh folks!" all call as i recall.

Well, at the beginning of last November Justin told me that he hoped to get the AE-1 swapout going before December 31st. Obviously that didn't happen. The last word I had from him was in early January. At that time he was working on getting the laser engraving for the faceplate finalized. Nothing since then, but I haven't bugged him either.

It is the old adage that "no good deed goes unpunished"....I guess..

I still am enjoying my original AE-1 very well and don't expect it to sound any different. But I will send it in once the recall notice is given.

Not at all. The upgrades were announced over 4 months ago and in an information vacuum people are understandably curious as to their progress. I don't see anyone complaining.

Same here. I listen to my AE-1 daily and completely enjoy it. But hey, this *is* Head-Fi, so the revised version has go to be better, right? Undoubtedly.

I'm not complaining per se, though I am very curious as to what is taking so long. In November/December I decided to get the AE-1, but I wanted to wait for the refresh. Then I call in January and they say six weeks. So.. I guess I'm just being impatient. Sorry. Though I should not fail to mention the fact that I really would like to finally hear this amp that people speak so highly of...

Just got an email from Justin...

Well, it seems that the electronics on the AE-1 are about finished... I just got this email from him an hour ago.

do you think part of the refresh will be putting the power toggle in the front? i basically have to take my amp out of the bag every time I have to turn the amp on and off - that's alot of amp moving!

Whoa, whoa, whoa free refresh?? Could that be why Justin's had my AE-1 for so long for repair (nothing big, an LED went out, everything else works). That would be a great suprise. No. Seriously where did he say there would be free refreshes? Why do I keep missing these things??
