Buyer's Remorse: Headphones and earphones you bought on impulse and regretted. - Page 8

SA5000 are probably the only headphone purchase I really regretted. At least they were easy to sell.

E2cs. Made me want more clarity and comfort once I tried the E4gs.

Grado SR-325

After all the fuss, I got a pair of 325s, and almost as quickly sent them back. This was a severe case of disappointment, given the rather strange sound of these things, even with break-in.

Oddly, I later purchased a SR-60 (for my mom), and we both liked them.

PortaPros - hated the sound and feel even more than the looks, and the hair pinching sealed it's fate. History!

UE-10 Pro. Most regretful grand I've ever spent.

With emphasis on both "worse" and "impulse", for me, that would be the "late Friday" Grado RS-1.
I bought a previous pair of RS-1's and really liked the sound. However, that pair had minor cosmetic defects. Expecting absolute perfection for the high price I paid, I impulsively ordered a second pair. That second pair turned out to be the infamous "late Friday" RS-1 with its poor finish and woodwork. I returned them for a refund, minus $25 in shipping costs.
At least the MS-Pros I have now are "perfect."

I think online credit card ordering really is conducive to impulsive buying. This is especially true on websites that you have an account with. They have all your shipping info stored and with a handful of mouse clicks, anything is yours.

I absolutely regretted buying the k601's; worst 200 dollars I have ever spent. I have a feeling I would absolutely hate the 701's as well.

They just don't sound very good. I've written quite a few posts about this in the past.

And I can't resell them!

You're kidding right? I have (had) an A900, and I also have a KSC75, and the A900 was clearly the superior can. The LTD is even better. The only purchase I really regretted was the MDR-XD400.

This is a tough one for me.

My first "real" set of headphones were the MDR-V600's 10 years ago. Maybe my ears weren't refined at all (quite possible... I was 11) but I loved those things. About two years ago I started to realize how bad they sounded, and only then do I wish that I started with something better. Oh well.

I also regret buying the Grado SR-80's. I purchased a pair a year and a half ago over the summer and returned them because they simply don't fit on my head. The way they fit made me percieve them as being horribly made headphones regardless of sound. (not true, but for me they are)

There are also some walmart sony's to throw into the mix, mainly just pieces of crap that fell apart after a few months.

My A700... but not because I don't like it. I just wish I would have waited two weeks longer and got the cash for the A900. I found myself with $140 in paypal, and said screw it, I want them. For $50 more, I think I would have been better off waiting. I still love them though.
