Long cable: digital or analog one?

Well, In my system I need one "long" (as in approx 3m) cable. I was wondering wether it was best for it to be transporting digital signal (as in emu->DAC) or analog (dac->amp).
I would lean toward digital since moving from a 0 to a 1 would seem more difficult+ there are correction algorithms, VS analog where any disturbance alters the waveform.
Also, for spdif coax cables, does the cable material make much difference? Anyone has a link on how to make a DIY one? how could I find a 75ohm connector?
What are your thought?

digital if you want lower loss.

Analog is more prone to interference than SPDIF.

BlueJeans makes some excellent cables for a cheap price. I think 9 feet is $15.75
