"The HD 280 Pro is poised to become the audio enthusiast's first choice for critical listening"

God. What stereotypical marketing phrasing bull. I write the same kind of tripe about our software to make it sound bleeding-edge and all that crap.

That's what I thought when I first read about the HD 280 Pro. However, having had them for a while now, and being able to compare them with lots of other good headphones, I have to say that they really are fairly close to what Senn markets them to be: studio monitor headphones. They're pretty flat top to bottom (although they roll off at the bottom end faster than some other monitoring headphones like the V6), no one area really stands out, and they're quite analytical. Plus they isolate better than any other full-size, closed headphone I've heard. For a studio monitor-type headphone, they're actually pretty good.

I second MacDEF (shock horror, neurologist comes to examine my head for MacDEF sabotage). Outstanding monitoring phones. Pity they're as ugly as ****.

Mais Oui - I'm not walking around with something that resembles part of a giant pretzel on my head.

I have a black oversize paper bag to hide in when I do my audio editing at home on the 280's...

is there no clear edge that goes towards the hd-280 or the v6/7506?
