Can you use an EQ as a crossover?

If you're talking about a digital equalizer like the DEQ2496 or BFD, yes. Many people do this. If you're talking about an old-style analog graphic equalizer, no, because they're designed to only attenuate the signal by a certain maximum amount, usually 6 or 10dB.

Okay.

Riddle me this Batman.

I have an ADC Sound Shaper 11 and a trunk sub with a pair of Paradigm Titans.....do you think that I could supplement the low end using the EQ and the sub sans a crossover.

I will get a "real" sub when I get a job, but being unemployed brings out the tinker'r in me.

That's an analog graphic EQ, right?

You can try it. Might be better than nothing, might not, depends on whether being able to localize lower midrange sounds from the sub bothers you or not.

Yup it's an analog eq. A nice one from my research......

Tried it with a 125 Watt amp bridged and Telarcs 1812.

That poor driver jumps all over the place.....but puts out a $hit ton of real low end bass.

I'll have to play with it more.
