Can anyone recommend household product that can be used to clean Ipod and probably remove scratches? Or can I use Brasso for both screen and body? My Ipod is 3Gen version.

I've seen brasso used all over the iPod with success. But, you should also know that I don't have an iPod myself so I haven't tried it.

I don't know if I would use anything that abrasive on the nano...On my nano I used a non toxic cleaner that can be found in almost any store Simple Green and a microfiber cloth. After I had it cleaned I proceeded to wax the finish with a Q-tip and meguiars pure carnuba car wax (again non-toxic, not abrasive) and made sure not to get it on the click wheel or in any cracks or screen...I buffed it with another clean microber cloth and it came out really shiny I don't think there is a way to fix scratchs in the paint once they are there...I have a few micro scratchs from befor I had a case...but the wax fils in the scratchs to protect it. The scratches you see are because of the light and useing macro....when looking at you don't see them..

Meguiars auto products sells a great Plastic Polish (http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-clear-p...lastic-Polish). Once most of the scratches are gone go to www.bestskinsever.com and spend 6 bucks to get a great form fitted skin to keep it that way. I have one on a Nano and 5G 30 gig unit and most people dont even notice its on there until they feel it. Both are great products.

O yea I forgot to mention that stuff, it is awesome. I use it on my 1999 Civic Headlights. I dunno if it is the climate here in florida or just cheap plastic but my headlights always get a haze on the outside of the plastic and looks terrible not to mention decrease the effectivness of the light. yes, all over the click wheel and screen
i've done this with my ipod many times, and about 4 of my friend's ipod

use only about a quarter sized amount of brasso, some elbow grease, and patience, a good polish takes about 4 minutes
use up and down motions, not circular
make sure you use a very soft cloth, microfibre is highly recommended
also, to get the brasso off, you can use glasses lens cleaner, as long as its non-alcoholic

I tried to get these oxidized black stains off my sony nw-hd1, and i made it super shiny, i guess it's not bad, but it's not in the original state. I have the shiniest nw-hd1.

Brasso works super well on the ipod,(chrome and plastic) my roommate was working on his for 50 mins and all scratches were all gone.
