Redwood: thanx for letting me know.....strangely, I can't delete ANY sent items from "the beginning" (time period). I haven't tried the time periods (only the default, 10 days, and since the beginning). Jude - can you help me here?

Oh - Team Cheapie-Koss-Rocks isn't swayed by your 2 U.S. cent offering. Whoops. I mean 5 dollars Canadian

i don't need to take that kind of attitude!

I officially boycott team cheap koss, and encourage everyone to join the real team koss!

Does anybody have any ideas on how to improve the fit on these? [KSC-50] Maybe heat up the plastic clip part a bit and remold it tad?
Won't do any good. The thing about the 50s is that they have a flexible rubber earclip with a metal wire in the middle, whereas the 35s have a rigid plastic earclip. So for starters, the 50s are flexible -- they don't hug the ears as well.

But even worse is the basic design.
1) the clips on the 35s are longer and reaches further around the ear for a better grip

2) the clips on the 35s are angled in *towards* the head (at the bottom), so they really do "clip" on; the clips on the 50s are angled *away* from the head, so the gap is wider at the bottom than the top -- making them fall off easier

I find that you can bend the rubber/wire such that they fit more tightly - at the cost of comfort however.

I don't have a file or sandpaper or otherwise I'd take off the sharp edge of this hard plastic. I'm pretty sure this would improve the fit because then you could just twist the phones and they would pull themselves tight like a corkscrew.

Sapphireomodena, they still might be the Sportapros for $70. I paid $60 Cnd. for mine and I haven't seen any portapros anywhere in over a year.

I bought the Sportapros about a year ago when radioshack had a sale, price went from $59.99 regular to $44.99. (the price i paid is the list US price ) Lately i haven't seen any sales on them.

The portapros were removed from their lineup last year, but lately many stores have been carrying it again. I dunno if its in the catalog again, or if those stores just had leftovers. I think they're $65 each.

Actually, I took a file and did just that.. It's slightly more comfortable now (my ears no longer get red and hurt from wearing them).

Man alive. I'm listening to Jude's KSC-50's right now, and holy smokes -- $15? That's insane. I'm gonna definitely pick myself up a pair. I'll keep em in my notebook bag at all times. Very impressed.

I'm noticing very small things that I thnk they're lacking in, but its not enough to keep me from picking them up. It's just that when you know an album so well and you suddenly hear a certain vocal line or high-hat riff that is set-back with these phones.. you may second guess the sound quality. But just overall, I'd suggest picking these up for $15.

neil......remember, these are competition for Sony Streetstyles - they are AMAZING for their price.

Glad you can get em.

And if you REALLY want to make jude jealous, get the KSC-35s - better balanced, tho the detail won't come back....

Welcome to team cheapie-koss.....

I'm the founder.....cuz......the KSC-35s are my favorite headphones and were my best for about 6 months....

Neil,
You just need to remove foam covers! (you can put them back on)
I can't believe there is no suggestion in all these replies to remove foam covers. This makes huge improvement in sound,
especially treble which is noticeably better, yet still feel comfortable when wearing. KSC-50 are untouchable at $15-20, and give any headphone under $100 a run for the money.
