Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - 4/21/06 B.B. Kings' - Page 2

For what its worth, BB Kings is located on 42nd between 7th and 8th avenues, there's tons of trains that stop down the block from it. It's a safe, high traffic area. I might get a ticket (if they're still available for taping purposes).

I kind of figured it should be easy to get there since so many trains go through the 42nd St. subway station. By the way, I misplaced the disc you sent but recently found it so I will give it a listen tonight.

It looks like we have 6 committed to go to the show at the moment. wmcmanus posted he was going to go in the National Meet thread so that makes 7. I figure we have to pick at least 3 to 5 more. I will check with the hotel tomorrow about a car service round trip. I will post new information on transportation as soon as I have it.

With all the people going to the National Meet there has to be more interest in catching this show. These guys are great live. Victor Wooten is one of the better electric bass players and Jeff Coffin is an amazing sax player. Of course there is also Bela Fleck and Victor's brother.

Transportation Update: The hotel advised that we can take the LIRR which is near the hotel to Penn Station (around 34th St.) and then we just walk about 8 blocks uptown to the venue.

A car service (van) will charge about $50 plus tolls each way. At that price, the car service seems like the best alternative.

Seems like an easy choice given the times we will be travelling and the minimal cost per-Headfier. Can we reserve the van both ways ahead of time?

Thanks for organizing Mike--it's much appreciated! If you want a hand with any logistics or a credit card number for reservations, just let me know.

From what they tell me, we just tell the car service where to drop us off and when to pick us up. I should clarify whether we can just call them when we are ready or do we have to arrange a time in advance. I will check on this.

Thanks for the offer, Al. So far I have it under control. I know there have to be more interested. I am pretty sure agile_one is going to join us. I am waiting for him to let me know his travel plans.

Can I still get in on this? I don't need car service or anything...but is there like numbered seating...

Of course, just buy a ticket. We will probably all leave from the hotel that night.

Me too! I've just made my hotel reservations (staying at the same place as the meet) and now need to sort out the airfare. I'll get a ticket to this as well. Looking forward to it!

Ok, I've got my ticket! It takes a few tries for me when I'm fighting to beat the 3 minute rule on Ticketmaster, but it's ever so satisfying once the mission is accomplished...

What? You thought I'd miss this? No way, got ticket, and I'm psyched - been a Bela fan for years.

Please add me to the list

Hey all -

I'm Mike with Ultimate Ears. I'm working at the meet on Saturday but I would like to hang out and catch some food and Bella with you all if that is OK. I missed them last time around and have been bitter about it since. Please put me down for 2 spots - I will be bringing a guest.

Thanks
