I have a DCP-100 sitting in my drawer without seeing alot of use lately since I sold my MS2s and SR71 amp.
The only reason this is still IC instead of FS is that this item is in pretty decent condition considering its age. There are some inevitable scratches, but it is built tough with a metal casing, no crappy plastic here, just proper quality for a portable cd player. Its also the best music player I have at the moment. The sound is just fantastic, it will be a very good addition to mid range specific headphones like AKGs or Sennheisers. They sounded absolutely fantastic with my old Alessandros. I also have the original case which is still in good condition, partly because it doesnt seem to have been used much, but mostly because it looks pretty gay in 2006 standards.
This particular item has a modification on the battery compartment. Instead of proprietary batteries, it accepts four AA sized batteries. I found this particularly useful considering the battery life for these are so poor and that its powerbrick doesnt support 100~240V. It proved pretty reliable without affecting the unit's sound quality. I refuse to believe this sounds distorted because when I had my ms2s and sr71 amp it sounded glorious for a little CD player.
I am tempted myself to keep this cd player since it was so hard to find, but it also is too much of a luxury to have it just sit around as it does. I havent used it once since my MS2 and SR71 were sold. Now that most of my cds are ripped in lossless codec, I find even less reason to use it now.
You may ask me for photos or any more information.
Cheers,
