hd25-1 appreciation thread - Page 150

The stock cable is steel.  Not good for sound at all, in my opinion.  Copper should give a noticed improvement...

I don't know but they look quite poorly made for the price.

Have a look for Custom Cans on eBay and you'll get a better deal and a decent cable.

If you can stretch your budget a bit farther,

Look for Toxic Cables and Forza Audioworks on here.

Frank from TC re cabled my HD25's and his cables are EPIC.

As for Matthew from FAW, I haven't seen a HD25 cable yet but Im sure he'll build one for you :)

Thanks. I believe that TC is a bit of stardust on the price/improvement. Custom cans might be good!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a complimentary pair of portable cans for the HD25 ALU? I tried the HP50 already but had comfort issues frown.gif

Shortlist:
  • B&W P7
  • Fidelio L2
  • AH-D600
  • HD26
  • KEF M500
  • MDR-1R

Will be using with the DX50 and Apex Glacier for portable use and Apex Glacier as USB DAC when at a desk.

I heard to look for forward mids/warmth to compliment these

Shure SE530
Monoprice 8323
Audio Technica ATH M50

Simply from my limited experience.

I was at a Christmas party when this came on and I was wearing my HD25's which was kinda cool and I pointed it out. Its probably the only time this has happened at a party and it not be Beats.

I'm scared my HD25 ALU will be ousted by the VK-1 that I ordered yesterday.

Granted they are usually the industry standard ones with the boom mic.

I wonder why since they get so much hate for sibilance. It's funny that they sound so good for music too
