The Beatles: US vs Import pressings?

I have a pressing of Rubber Soul "Made in W. Germany" (CDP 7 46440 2) that sounds great. It is full, warm, and clear.

The following major studio album, Revolver, "Manufactured by Capitol Records, Made In U.S.A. (CDP 7 46441 2 DIDX 1481) does not sound great. It is slightly thin and harsh.

My other US Beatles pressings sound ok, but none of them are as good as Rubber Soul.

Is this par for the course as far as US Beatles pressings go? Are the imports always better? Does Revolver just not sound great?

IMO the Capitol box of the first 4 US Beatles albums are excellent. The CDs contain the complete Duophonic/Stereophonic versions and complete mono versions.
