I currently was using the HD212s which I have had for about a year or two. My first reaction was wow, my head is really big. I have them all the way clicked out to have them just barely fit on my head. They are just really wide and hopefully will loosen up with time. Then I actually plugged them in and listened to them and it was pretty apprent that it was a great purchase. It sounds like there isn't as much bass, but it's just because it's not so muddy to drowned out all the rest of the music. The bass is more punchy and an absolute blessing for techno which I listen to a lot and was the reason for getting these particular cans. (VNV Nation - Beloved...wow) Much more mids and a little clearer overall now that the rest of the range can come out over the sludge. Pretty much an all around upgrade from the 212s. Also, I got the 212s a couple years ago for 60 dollars and these were 55, so better sound at a lower cost. It almost makes me feel bad for having listened to the 212s for so long. Hopefully they don't burn in much unless it will be to give me more mids and highs, I love the bass where it's at right now.
