Has anyone tried anything in this regard?

I am going to try this out on the summer. It definitely have potential to bring a lot more improvemnt. I see the huge defferences b/t EMP and AE.

Here's the power supply for my modded EMP:

The sonic improvement is increased clarity and a stronger low end.

The design of EMP AE has lot of tricks. Seems like the only big change is the power supply, but NOT! there are lots of knowledges and considerations involved. My friends suggest me to mod the middle tube of EMP from ECC81 to 6922 (not like the AE that still uses ECC81), Just like Hirsch's modded EMP and also disign a new circuit power supply from original 3pins cord to 5 pins (may be 6 pins, but not that necessary) The new one is a new design, much bigger in size. Are you in canada? I can provide you further info. in future if you want.

It's interesting that you have both amps and can do a comparison.

I am looking into improving the power supply at this point. I am not sure if I want to deal with modifications yet.

I am in Toronto. Please keep me updated if you decide to undertake your modding project.
