I stand by my original oppinion, that a $20 cable upgrade is a good invenstment for the K240s.
Well I agree with you here. I was reading of off fewtch's post and just picked up his $105 figure. Of course, as he points out, if you screw it up, it'll be more than $105. But with the detachable cable, it certainly seems worth it.

detached cable?

well that's cool. makes me feel a bit better. it'll suck to wait 100hrs until they open up though.
on my list:
1. use better foam
2. get a new cable

it's great people have put their voice in about the k240s not being horrible

how do these compare to the sony sa 1000???

I thought that the K240S had a thickness in the upperbass that obscured too much detail. That and the lack of highs made this a phone I regretted having to let go, because I enjoyed the richness of the mids and their soundstage is absolutely perfect to me. An excellent movie headphone, but not so good for music.

I second that! K240S are the "ultimate groovalizers" - for me.

I just though I might add my $0.02 worth as well so you know
there are more people who like the sound signature of K240S.

Cheers!

just got them 45min. ago. though the bass is a bit sloppy for me personally, I like pretty much everything else. the ksc75 does do notes clearer, but they're not as warm as the k240s. I'm wondering after reading reviews everyone seems to like the 240s at first then changes their mind. should I be worried when mine burn in they'll sound worse?
