Not sure if this has been discussed here before, so I apologize if it has been

I definately am not a record guy (I guess I just don't 'get it'), but I still found this interesting. And it can be yours for a mere pittance of $19,000!

This unit is probably priced for studios that specialize in remastering and reissuing old recorded material that only exists on vinyl/ceramic/acetate, etc. If a consumer model were issued, it would probably still be several thousand dollars, since there is limited interest in an item of this kind.

P.S. I think one of the most interesting jobs in the world would be as an archivist for a large library of early American music recordings, especially if the intent was to make selections for re-issues. Since .mp3 is so easy to store, it would be great if some investor would sink money into putting, say, the Library of Congress' music archives online. A few of these units would be of great help.
