Sennheiser CX 300 IEM (a personal review) - Page 9

Even though it's somewhat out of my budget, I'm considering the er-6i's because I'm not a basshead.

By the way, on amazon, the cx300's are 40 bucks while the er-6i's are about 90. Not really triple

You're right, it's a little over double. Since the ER6i sound quality doesn't double, it's hard for me (non-audiophile) to justify spending twice as much. Plus the ER6i you have to really jam them in your ears, so I figure the cx300 would be more comfortable.

Im no expert but i have been following this forum for a while and own the e2c/er4p/sr60/ms1/hd-25-1/ex71/d66. But i really couldnt deal with how boomy they were! Luckily i got them via work and didnt pay full price!
In the review it did say that he preferred the bass of the px100s. For you guys that don't have one or haven't heard it, the px100 is avery bassy phone that lacks definition in the lows so if that was better than the cx300 then the cx300 might not have great bass after all. Also, he was comparing the cx300 to the sony 71 which is known to have very boomy bass so beating the sound of that ain't much of a feat But then again, for a portable phone it might actually sound pretty good considering there are not that many good canalphones or are there??? for under 100 bucks

Has anyone done a comparison of these to the Panasonic HJE-50 or Westone UM1? I currently have the HJE-50, and was consideing an upgrade to the UM1... With talk of these being as good as the SuperFi 3, they might make the extra 60.00 cost of the UM1s a waste. So, any input?

anybody? I really want to know if I should jump on these [before the price goes up again] or hold off and get the UM1s.

I am having trouble finding these on Amazon at the $39 price. I keep seeing $69 and $79. Anyone have a link to the lower price?

i just bought a pair of ue super.fi 3 studio's and the sibilance(sp?) does sting at times. cranked my h120's bass all the way up. normally, itd cause my headphones to start cracking from excessive bass, but the ue3's totally deliver the bass.

the thing is that i am still bothered by the sibilance. they make me cringe when i listen to female vocals without maxing out the bass. seems like people are saying the cx300's improve in this area? and can anyone comment about how much bass these babies can handle?

This is nothing more than an educated guess, but they shoudl stay on better. The sonys are the only IEMs I've ever heard of this issue with, so assume that it is a sony specific problem. Even my HJE50s, which have a similar tip design stay on with no issues.

Again, has anyone compared the UM1 and cx300? How about the HJE50 and cx300?
