Any YELLO fanatics here? - Page 2

I can't say I like their earlier albums more or less than the new ones. I like them all, but of course there's a few favorites, old aswell as new. Stella & You Gotta Say Yes to Another Great Excess are my favorite pre-85 albums. Pocket Universe is the best of the new ones IMO.

Btw, did anyone here buy any of the re-released albums in the "Remastered Series"? Is it a recommended upgrade from the previously released CDs of the same albums?

Wow! I thought I was the only one.

Been a fan since "Claro Que Si". After seeing the video for The Evening's Young I was hooked.

Yes to both. Remastered by Boris Blank and Ursu Weber. Very well executed, especially "Flag"... well worth buying you will hear lots of new minutae, recommended.

Some of the finest remasters I've heard (third, after Peter Gabriel's and Rupert Hine/Thinkman's), plus some nice bonus tracks. I got Stella, Flag, and One Second, my favourite albums by them, will eventually get the whole series.

Good stuff Dusty. I urge you to try "Pocket Universe", "Zebra" and "baby" three very good works indeed and typically "Yello" in style (well they would be wouldn't they ) Of all their more recent offerings the only one that doesn't get a lot of air play with me is "motion Picture"..... A good album in its own right but it just doesn't "gel" the same way their other albums do. "The Eye" is another strange one but I play it a lot as the recording quality is just so bloody good and it's funny.... the more you play it the better it becomes, a bit of a creeper in fact.

IMO these two guys are the grandfathers of Techno and their recent work is still leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. From Solid pleasure to Pocket Universe, from Stella to The Eye, these guys seldom fail to deliver the goods.. not one duff album out of the lot of them, pure class on a stick!

Well, I'm all Yelloed out having every single album they have ever made (sometimes three of the same album!) so am awaiting their next album with eager anticipation.. it's about time for them to release a new one I think Roll on............

You Gotta say YES to another excess!

Actually, I have all their albums, I was just saying which remasters I got.

I agree that the more recent albums are under-rated. I need to listen to them more...but that entails finding them.

You can have my sig Pink. Yello's music and I go back a ways. Nice to see that they are not forgotten.

I just got 4 remastered Yello CDs. They sound great! Incredible amount of details was unearthed during remastering! It’s like almost like listening to whole new music.
