IE Speller, located at http://www.iespell.com/, is a new great freeware spell checker that integrates with IE seamlessly. It was specifically designed for things like this forum, so you can spell check your postings!

Sounds interesting..

Would you deem it a ram-buster or is it more energy efficient?

It uses 3% of my system resources and 1 MB RAM, but only while in operation (Win98SE). That means it has no apparent effect on the system when it is not running, and it returns the RAM and resources to the computer when you close it. Damned efficient, if you ask me (and I guess you did). I just used it to spell check this note. It's started by a button on the toolbar, and when you're done, it shuts down clean as a whistle.

Here are some other freeware gems for IE or related functions:

http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/ie/webaccess/

From this one, you can find the Powertweaks, too. The Webaccessories include an IE toolbar wallpaper changer. The Powertweaks include a context-menu addition to copy the URL of a page directly to the clipboard. To make the latter work properly in IE 6, visit http://www.forrestandassociates.co.u...est/index.html

http://www.atomtime.com//
http://users.iafrica.com/d/da/dalen/tclockex.htm

Set your time with the atomic clock server with the first, and then, with the second, customize the tooltray clock and add a perpetual calendar.

http://www.moonsoftware.com/

Copy the URL directly from a shortcut.

http://www.mindspring.com/~dpoch/eni...chesentry.html

Fix problems with IE's temporary internet files cache.

http://www.google.com/options/winexplorer.html

Add a Google search button directly to the Links bar, and search Google after selecting text (no spyware or security problems with this one).

It doesn't work with Crazy Browser.
