Headphone showdown in my dorm room tonight

A guy who is in my statics class was bragging to me today about his Bose QC2's and how great they are. I just looked at him and said "Dude you don't know what you are talking about, don't even start with me, you don't want to get in to it" BUT he continued to exclaim how great they are and how the sound quality is amazing. So I said "Fine, you come to my dorm tonight and ill listen to them and you can listen to my headphones". He is coming over in about an hour and just called me to tell me how great his QC2's are gonna sound. Hahahahahaha he has no idea what he is getting himself into. But the showdown will occur tonight. I will have to let you know how it turns out

Do keep us posted, should be an entertaining read.

If I were a betting man, I would bet he will end up saying he likes his Bose better than anything else you have.

P.S. The Cynic in me says that you should keep your entire headphone/gear/music collection under very tight lock and key once you are done educating this dude. I'm not saying that particular dude might steal them, but once word spreads about how awesome your headphones are, someone else might. Call me paranoid if you must, but there are very few people that I trust. Maybe that just comes with old age, experience/wisdom and cynicism.

why not just let him get his jollies off "bragging." who enjoys the music more: you or him? i don't bother speaking to anyone in real life about headphones etc. also the theft issue that lmilhan brings up is a serious one that i think occurs often in college.

I know this is a headphone forum and all but . . . you need something better to do. Who cares what this guy thinks, he's just a punk. Ignore him and be glad that you don't need to flaunt crap to make yourself feel cool.

Good luck. Should be a no contest. I recently bought a used QC2 just to check it out and it was sold in less than 24 hrs. My ksc35 sounds much better.

What do you get if you prove him wrong? Are you going to sleep better? Theres good odds he wont even admit yours sound better, especially if hes been bragging so much.

Let him enjoy his music, however good or bad it sounds to you. You enjoy your music. Call me crazy, but I don't feel that everyone in the world needs to feel the same about headphones as I do.

don't worry about my rig, its safe and sound. I guess I should have explained a little more, he is a guy I have known for a while, I met him in high school and he just happens to be in my statics class. He is not some totally random dude I have never met more than once.

Here is how it went down. He listened to the A2dk and was amazed, he thought it sounded great. The only problem is he really only listens to headphones on the way to class so, he still said he would prefer his Bose QC2. I prob would too under those conditions (wow I wish my dad would give me back my E4c's). He did concede the headphone showdown, but I don't think he'll be investing in a Orpheus anytime soon. It was a good talk. IF anything he was more interested in the millet. I guess his dad has a vinyl/tube amp speaker setup at his house, so he does know what the tube sound is all about!

and diseases? Do we need a new acronym? HTD's, headphone transmitted diseases

See? I knew he'd back up his Bose. Now go buy some Portapros and shame him with a Koss.

This should be interesting. Let us know what happens, I also think as someone has mentioned earlier that your friend may not concede so easily and stand his ground.
