A bit flakey
Mark (plaidplatypus) contacted my via PM regarding a camera I have for sale in the Cables & Misc Items forum. After a handful of back-and-forth PM's across several days, we arrived at a deal where he would send payment in the form of a USPS money order that following week, after which I would send him the goods.
In the interim, I both removed the camera from further sale, and put off several inquiries about the camera, including one serious buyer, as I considered the item sold to Mark.
A week went by and no payment arrived. I sent Mark a PM asking him what was up, which he read (as indicated by a read-receipt), but he never bothered to reply to me.
At that point I PMed the other serious buyer, but unfortunately he had already made another choice, and I lost a sale.
To this day, weeks later, Mark (plaidplatypus) has yet to contact me. Had he simply told me somewhere along the line that he was not be able to follow through with the transaction, for whatever reason, I would have understood. But to commit to a transaction, and make the seller wait indefinitely for payment or some form of communication, is not the mark of a trustworthy buyer. Very strange & more than a bit disappointing, considering his previous feedback here.
I post this as a warning to anyone who considers a sales transaction with Mark (plaidplatypus).
/EDIT: About a week or so after posting this feedback, Mark PMed me to apologize, stating it was not in his normal character. We worked out another agreement, and he purchased the aforementioned camera. After receiving payment, I mailed it via USPS Priority mail, which arrived the next business day. After two days had passed, I PMed Mark to verify that everything was ok (I had also requested he PM me in my prior message with the tracking info). Six days later he PMed me to let me know that everything had arrived in perfect condition, as promised.
