Hi Robert,

With the iMod, you will lose some of the features such as the stock line-out from the dock connector and the headphone output (adjustable volume).

After the iMod think of the iPod as a reference-quality source such as a CDP, with a fixed line-out. You feed it into a high quality headphone amplifier or home audio setup... not a little sound-dock rig.

Regards,

Thanks Vinnie

Hi Vinnie,Thanks..I sold my Altec Lansing Im7 speaker dock on Ebay today ,I'll get one of those Tivoli iPal's and hook the iPod up to that for trips to the beach, lake etc. On the go while walking the dogs and at the YMCA I'll use a RS Hornet amp.
I'll also use my ipod as a source hooked up to my Marantz 2250b receiver/KLipsch Chorus II's 101 dB effecient horn speakers.. and sometimes to my tube gear system,Blueberry preamp and www.nosvalves.com VRD's and www.hornshoppe.com 98 dB effecient back loaded horn speakers.
So with the Redwine mod,I should be very happy with a iPod that doesn't sound so grainy.

Cheers,
Robert

Really?

I am pretty sure that my 5.5g iMOD bought from ALO still has both of these functions...

Will have to check tonight.

Two things..
1. This thread is old, so the features might have changed since then...
2. You quoted the iMod'er himself. I bet he know what his products are able to achieve...
