Source first! Put Ortofon OM-5E cartridge on that old pioneer and now everything is in synergy. Ortofon is great choice if you dont want spend too much money. So sophisticated sound ah. Listening classical music and high dynamics dont distort anymore. Same happened to inner groove distortion, its gone. And now old Heep records sound so good and very listenable. Old orginal cardridge was so bad that I could not listen Heep records, they were so distordet.
Oh and setup ,beside that player, is TC-750 phono preamp (on table), diy A47 headphone amp (on floor) and Grado sr-80. There is also pioneer cd player under the shelf, but cds sound so, well not as good. That might be becouse of old player but meh. There is also some speakers
