Can anyone guess what this tweak is?

Lets have fun trying to guess.

Now kiddies, don't cheat by looking at the pic's URL.

I just stared at it in disbelief when I first saw it.

it...looks like it's supposed to support your speaker wires, so that they don't hang down and....how would that affect the sound, exactly? I'm lost. did I guess it?

The speaker wires look like Mapleshade specials. The sticks support the wires so they don't pick up static electricity influences from the carpet.

Howz that?

Speaker stand? Saw vaguely similar stands in Japan (for small Fostex drivers).

Yes Neruda, but don't forget ICs too.

Smokey, you got the wires right and Mapleshade does sell these.

Put some cloth around those sticks, and you'll have the coolest audio teepee ever!

Neruda,

These were Fostex full range (remarkable sound for their size).
The speakers had tripod legs that were potted in special sand.
