Are there any decent wireless headphones on the market? If so, what it the price range I'd be looking at?

The wireless headphones will not compare favorably to a good corded set.

That said, I did quite a bit of research over several forums in the past several weeks.

The following received positive comments:

1) Audio-Technica ATH-DCL 3000 - $949 @
Audiocubes;
2) AKG Hearo Audiosphere II - Todd has them
for $799 - big discount from MSP;
3) Pioneer SE-DIR 2000C and 800C - about $350;
4) Philips HP-1500 - about $350

My interest was Surround Sound for DVDs and I went with the Hearo. Still waiting to receive.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

People spend vast amounts of money to isolate the signal path. Going wireless means your air needs to be free of RFI which is a very tall order to achieve perfect fidelity. It is a trade-off for convenience, one that many of us are not willing to consider.

For anything with decent sound you're looking at 300$+.

not nessicarily, you could do digital audio over wireless and use something like FH or DSSS or heck even OFDM signaling to give you enough bandwith to make it lossless... very doable in the microwave ISM bands, like 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz around there...
