Regulated Internatonal 24v Power Supply

Team,

Thank you all for this excellent forum.

I have this wonderful-sounding beautiful new Larocco PRII and I need a 230vAC to 24vDC linear (regulated) power supply for it.
Must be a transformer type, Larry at Larocco says a high-frequency in some switching supplies is not good for the charging circuit.
It draws around 21ma, so for some headroom a 100ma supply (or bigger) is fine and a 50ma is probably? OK also.

Can anyone suggest one? Im happy to buy from US, Germany or Australia.

So far Ive found two but they are both open-frame and Id prefer to get one that is already enclosed. I am fine with soldering, fitting the correct plug, etc.

Elpac dont do an International that is non-switching.

Would a UK power supply be OK if you get yourself a travel adapter (I assume you are in Europe)? Try here and scroll down.

" 24V 750mA DC Regulated, short-circuit protected power supply supplied with six adaptors for the most common power connectors. £22.95 " so US$41.
No further specs indicated.

Preference is for one a little cheaper, and closer to home, (remote South Pacific), its usually easier for me to source from Germany, Australia, NZ, US.

Thank you though. Has anybody else found one ?

24V DC 1A Regulated Power Supply (JayCar Electronics Australia)

The PSU is effectively closed. The slits you can see on the surface are just grooves.

Hey, the Aussies come through. Nice.

Skyscraper, the mains outlets look like Oz / NZ ones. Im interested.

Just FYI, I am using this PSU with my Creek (OBH-2 PSU is overpriced and this one actually exceeds the other's specs). Result has been very good with me.

Prior to my buying this PSU, I have had an offer from Kenny12 that he could custom-build a regulated 24VDC PSU for a reasonable sum. You might want to contact him for details.

Hope you have luck with finding a power supply, Chris.

FYI, I emailed Remtrak about the power supply and it's a switch mode.

Since JayCar also sells a regulated switch-mode 24VDC PSU (with much higher current delivery), I am assuming that the unit I linked does not work in switched mode.

Still, I'd be interested to know the true answer.

Just spotted this on Ebay: DELTRON 24V DC @ 1.2 AMP LINEAR POWER SUPPLY

I'm not too sure about the input and output cables/plugs, but it certainly looks (and means) serious business.

Zorander, I wrote Jaycar.
Also the ebay seller re his intnl shipping; its a good price and specs :
Line Regulation ±0.05% for a 10% line change.
Load Regulation ±0.05% for a 50% load change.
The tricky bit (for me) is coming up with a decent enclosure since its an open-frame; soldering on power & output cables is fine.

Hey Chris,

I think from your post that you may have a little misinformation. The Supply should have 100mA minimum. It does power the amp and charge at the same time. Higher amperage is fine, so long as the supply has the proper Voltage. No more than 25VDC.

If you use only a 50mA supply, it will fail in time.

Thanks Larry, I wasn't sure what the minimum was.

The Deltron is 1.5a, slightly over-the-top but she'll-be-right.

(hope those batts get here). Nice amp, man. This PRII is a babe. (ya know what I mean)
