Ksc-75 cable repair/modding

Does anyone have experience cable modding/repairing for this model? I've been enjoying my set for about a 2 months, and will likely do the fabled kramer mod this weekend. For the last two days however I've noticed that the cable for the left can has been coming loose.

Has anyone ever opened up the back of the diaphram, where the cable enters? Is it possible to do private cable mod/repairs for this model?

I don't wanna just start prying on things if there's a chance someone knows how these come apart. If I can actually safely get to the point where the cable is connected, I'm confident I can make the repair. It's just getting there that's the problem.

Thanks in advance for any shared experiences with these.
/me bows to Kramer for all of his posted knowledge

I recabled one of mine with canare. I like the sound but dont like the wire stiffness, and cant recommend it... at least not with the cable I used. My other set remains with the OEM cable and I like it much more. please let me know if you find a flexible light cable thats suitable ... I DO like the sound better from my recabled set.

The gray dull plastic part just pulls off. You need a small screwdriver to lift / pry it off. You'll have to unsnap the earhook first though.

Thanks Kramer!

I guess a cable mod is in order. I do like the lightweight nature of the current oem cables, the lack of weight I think adds to the comfort of these. So I'm gonna look for something that's still lightweight, will return with results.

If anyone has any candidates, let me know!
