Nope - I wasn't all that thrilled with that album - its still in my queue for now, though. I have a bunch more CDs that I want to buy first.

LOL, my wife would KILL me if I went out and bought that many at once. She would walk me down to my near 1000 cd collection and say "Isn't there anything HERE you could listen to?!?!"

They just don't understand, do they........?

Therefore, I'm jealous.

They don't! It really is a cruel joke. The more music I buy, the quicker boredom sets in.

The correct answer is: "Sure I could, but I'll need a pair of new $5000 speakers so they all sound better this time."

Then CDs sound like a reasonable purchase.

I'm still planning on how to break the news to my wife I plan on bying a pair of VMPS Supertower3's. Luckily I'll have a few years to think about while I save up $20,000

My biggest CD spree was a two day journey of clearing out all the used sections in Vancouver.

Walked away with 26 discs for $300 CAD. Only 3 out of those were new.

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
Nirvana - In Utero
Orbital - Blue Album
Orbital - The Altogether
Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
Pearl Jam - Riot Act
Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
Pendulum - Hold Your Colour
Rage Against the Machine - Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium
RHCP - By the Way

I'm forgetting about 5-10 other albums as well

For indie music (mainly), cdbaby.com has a $5 sale that's ongoing. Every now and then when I want to hear something new, I'll pick up 30-50 CD's on sale that I've never heard of. So far, the good ones have far outweighed the occasional POS.

First off, Virgin is a mega-ripoff. Secondly, it has already been mentioned but it is worth repeating: Disc-o-rama on Union Square East and in the West Village have a good selection and you can buy ALL their CD's 3 for $29. In addition, please don't overlook craigslist.com. Last time I hit CL I scored 57 CD's for $50 from some guy who was moving and didn't want to move them again. I use eBay as a last resort only because some believe shipping should be a profit center (NOT).

I usually buy from the "Previously Enjoyed" section at my local store. I check the disc for scratches, and I've never yet found one that had any problems. 31 CDs from there would cost around $150-$300.

But good on you! It really is nice to buy the actual recording rather than be dependent on your hard drive.

I just spent 132 on 11 albums and I feel weak in comparison.

Ya i no longer settle for one retailer. i always check prices on cds im about to order... because i got tired of playing what was like 100 more because i chose to deal with one dealer...
