This has to be one of the best reviews I've read of any audio product. The reviewer has the balls to point his finger at the better product. Far too many reviews go in circles, "oh well... Product A has great bass and great highs, but not too much bass or aren't overly treble happy... but in comparison Product B also has well rounded and defined bass but never gets boomy or strident..." or any of the other typical audiophile type rhetoric. My sp5p's have given me the IEM itch **cough cough... custom..** I can't seem to find a review that helps me decide whether the UE-10 or 2-XS is for me. The long review on head-fi is very thorough, but I feel it runs in circles and gets contradictory at times.
I have pretty much quit reading Stereophile and started reading The Absolute Sound when I want to know about a product. Stereophile likes everything if you pay them enough, and reviews the "best CD player they've ever heard" each month, TAS will be as bold to point out the BEST product in a given category.
