The Mysterious Helios CD Players ...

Thread Starter
Anyone know anything about the Helios brand CD players? There's only four of them -- the Helios Model 1, 2, and 3, and the weird-looking flagship unit, the Stargate.

The only thing I've been able to find out about Helios is that the brand is made by Etna, a French high-tech company that makes all sorts of random things, a lot of them military and aerospace in nature.

Besides information, the players themselves seems scarce -- none available anywhere on the internet that I could find, including eBay and Audiogon.

I'm interested because I found mention of the Helios Model 1 as something I might like to hear in a Meridian review somewhere.

Anyone know anything or heard any of the players?

There's a review of the Helios Model 2 at the Hi-fi choice site. It says that they have reviewed the Stargate as well but it doesn't seems to be on-line. Click here!

You are right, information on Helios is rather scarce. Here is a brief spec comparison of these Helios CDP, but not in English.
