FS: Tascam 122 Professional Tape Deck

Hello.

For sale is my Tascam 122, a professional tape deck used in recording studios.

I have posted an ad on Audiogon:

http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.p...144975055&item

I've had this deck about 2-3 years, but have used it very rarely (maybe about 5-10 hours of use) in my own private studio. Prior to my purchase the machine was completely checked out and brought to good performance standards--the belt was changed, heads were cleaned, the electronics were tested, etc.. So you can be assured this deck will work very well right out of the box.

Since this deck is a pro machine, it does have some pretty nice features including bias adjustment, monitor toggle between source and tape, big lighted analog meters!!!, noice reduction, 2 sets of inputs, test tone, 2 tape speeds (high speed for extra resolution), and even external noise reduction support!....

Which brings me to the next subject: as you can see in the pictures, I've been using a DBX 150 Type I Noise Reduction system, which is compatible with this type deck. I believe this noise reduction piece is the best you can get, compatibility and performance wise, for this deck. There also exist Type II and SR noise reduction systems, but for reasons I have forgotten, they were not suitable--I do recall the SR being highly expensive as well. So, the price of this piece is not included in my asking price, but I would love to sell the two pieces together, so please give me a fair offer for both.

I'd love to keep this deck--it works very well. But I just don't use it enough. I would rather someone who would use it enjoy it.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions! And I encourage you to check this deck out in person if you would like. Local pickup is encouraged, but I'd ship well-packed just as well. Also, I'd be willing to hand-deliver this piece to you if you're within a reasonable driving distance of Pasadena, CA.

Thank you,
Dean

buyer backed out. price reduced to $250 shipped for the deck. price for the DBX Type I is negotiable, as it would be more convenient for me to sell them together.

guys, this is the best tape deck money can buy, bar none. it's the industry recording standard. a current 122 retails for $1500.

$200 for the deck. $50 for the DBX. I won't go any lower--next step will be ebay. Again, the 122 is THE best deck money can buy. And I've even hunted down the DBX Type I for you. Highly encouraged to buy the set.
