for the shuffle what IEM is best?

I like the senn sound, I also appreciate Grados with bowl pads.

What I am looking for is wide open sound stage with precise instrument seperation.

Is this possible with the shuffle headphone out?

Can't really achieve Senn soundstage with IEMs. I'd say that Etymotics are a bit on the bright side.

Based on reviews, it sounds like the EU 5Pro might be closest to Senn's warmer sonics.

Yea super fi pro was what I was looking at according to all the reviews.

can they be worn with the cable straight down? I dont like wrapping that around my ear. The e2s drove me nuts, and I found them to be uncomfortable.

where would be the cheapest place to get the the super fis?

Not the nicest company but www.compuplus.com has them for 189.95.

I don't think there's any way you're going to get senn house sound out of an IEM. IEM's sound can be pretty good but I think most people would agree that for the price 6 you pay for a great set of IEMs you can get a full sized set of cans with much better presentation. Thier main drawing powing is in the fact that they isolate. As i'm sure you know, when you bring an open set of cans out doors thier soundstage collapses and you have to crank up the volume in order for them to sound even half way decent risking damage to your hearing.

Um2s are about the closest of the sound. But sure that isn't that close.
