Do you stuff your bird and, if so, what's your favourite stuffing?

I'm not having a turkey this year after seeing how they are treated in these horrible indoor sheds and am going for a nice piece of topside instead. I'll still be making stuffing though and on the menu is sausage and onion stuffing, oatmeal stuffing and some chesnut and apricot stuffing.

Do you stuff your bird and, if so, what do you stuff it with?

mmmmm.... stuffing.

Oyster stuffing is my favorite. But that wouldn't go so great with topside. It suits turkey and game birds well, but not so great with chicken either (chicken is too mild to handle the oysters).

Sounds very nice and I forgot to add oyster to the poll My huge lump of topside is marinating in some exotic juices out in the garage, she's supposed to stay in the marinade for 3 whole days but I've only got her down for 2 days... should be nice though and a welcome change from the usual dry turkey.

Wow what a poll/list of mouth watering yummies. I feel suddenly deprived.

Do I have to move in with the Cleavers to get something of that quality?
Is it only Canadians who sent mom to work and stopped cooking 30 years ago?

I must be lost in the past this morning as my first reaction to "Do you stuff your bird and, if so, what do you stuff it with?" was of the sixties slang word "bird" for woman and well....

Now I feel so Michael Caine as Alfie.

I like ginger. Apple seems nice. Do they mix?

Turducken, a concept which is so excessively laden with naked greed that it could only be thought of by contemporary Americans, intrigues me. I would like to have it once.

This is a festive stuffing poll suitable for the entire family, don't you guys in the USA stuff your bird at Christmas? It's traditional in the UK to stuff your bird on Christmas Eve with some chesnut or sausage stuffing... totally suitable for family voting unless you've got a warped mind
