) into pads. Personally I really enjoyed my SR-80's for months with the bowls, but after switching to the reversed HD414 pad I couldn't go back. They were simply too harsh/edgy. With my unbroken in HF-1's (with bowls) I immediately put the flats I purchased alone with them and fell in love. I tried switching back to my worn in bowls for the hell of it and came away with a unique perspective. If you want less bass and more highs (not nearly as harsh as the SR-80) go with the bowls (they are also great for comfort...which is VERY subjective. For me though, I would rather have a smoother (maybe slightly rolled off) high end and powerful bass, so I stick with the flats.
