After about 8 days I got my brand-new athena S2 speakers today from UPS. As soon as music came out of my sansui receiver I was impressed with them. At first I was surprised and a little annoyed the cabinet was a little deeper than I though it would be but I soon forgot this annoyance. These things sound great to me and they havent even broken in yet. The only thing I think it's missing is the really low end but I was expecting that from a pair of bookshelves. I'm sure the low end will come out more once they've broken in and when I put the Mcintosh in the mix.
Anyway, I need to find some good inexpensive speaker stands for these babies. They need to be pretty sturdy because I have carpet in my room (yuck!) and not too high.
I'll post some more thoughts on these but so far I'm happy I spent the 140USD's on them.
