As said in thread title I am slightly deaf in one ear. To get a good balanced stereo image I have to have my right speaker forward by about 7 inches of the left. Can any body suggest any thing that I can put in my set up so I can balance my speakers. I do not want to get a new amp a I am very happy with the one I have. I also do not want to deteriorate the sound of my set up.

You could try those sound pressure meters. They can be picked up fairly cheapily from maplins and might help.

You could try adding a single channel shunt attenuator (a pot or stepped attenuator would give easiest setup) between your pre-amp and amp to drop the volume on the left channel, and adjust it until the stereo image is balanced for your hearing.
