Online Resource: The Eastsound CD-E5 European Edition - Page 27

Sorry, I just filled in my signature.
I am new to this I usually just lurk and read everything you guys post (the entire ESound e-5 thread).
I upgraded my system to the Ohm Micro Walshs (I traded in the Ohm c3s I bought in '81-25% discount on the new speakers) and the Emotiva units for my Onkyo receiver (909- still a nice unit but a bit long in tooth-will save for a backup).
I am running the Sony SACD CE 595 and a Samsung 850 dvd (hacked to output 1080i over component-it works)
I have the Original Master headphone amp and AKG 701 phones on the way from a forum member.
I spent a good buck but so far the upgrades are really amazing, I pulled 2 new home runs for fresh 20 amp circuits and have them running through an audio video surge protector, I have the PW-3 coming from Mr Law at cattylink to help clean up the power (along with 3 new silver cables for my amp and preamp)
Many thanks to all of the forum members on this and many of the other links and sites, it is a great place to get an education, coupled with reviews of products from the web in general.
I don't know how helpful I will be, but I will to let you all know how things work out.

Thanks again, the E-Sound is truly musical in nature and true to whatever source cd I drop in. I have been re-listening to my cd's and it is good for me, a good change from the ramblings of the tv news. Thank you Dr. for all of your support in getting this great machine into our hands.
Now if it was only made in Woodstock, NY.

Warning: If you try to replace the VAM1202/12 laser using one that is not from Eastsound, the wiring connectors may not work in the E5.

The laser must look like this, from the botom view of the laser:

Wiring may be different and hard to adapt to the E5. You need the gold ribbon connector and the wires to plug connector as shown in photo.

I once thought the laser could be purchased outside of the Eastsound model, but never tried this, and have since heard the wiring doesn't match the E5.
