Has anyone driven the 880 250ohm with a C&C BH amp? Or, how about a C&C XO2?

Forgot to mention I agree WRT the E17.
While it sounds good, it just does not sound great and the DT880 deserves a much better amp/DAC. The E17 sounds slightly veiled and muffled, but for the money I really can't complain.

I use the same Amplifier and my computer's sound card and it sounds so much better than my E6+iPhone combo. I hope I can find an amp with a DAC that will be compatible with the iPhone 5 LOD (to come) around that same $150 price point then.

Everything is compatible with the LOD cable since its just a standard 3.5mm headphone connector. When yokken says "if you need a DAC get the E17" he means if you need a USB DAC. The LOD cable doesn't need a DAC, just a 3.5mm headphone input jack which any portable amp will have.

Niiiiiiiiice!! One of the coolest looking Manufaktur's I've seen!

Also had them re-cabled to be detachable it looks like? Did you do that yourself or did you have someone do it for you?

I did all the mods myself ;)

Yeah, *durrr*, I just realized you said "DIY Manufaktur". Even more impressive! Great job. Love the look of the black grills with the red accent.

What impedance are your DT880s? I'm eyeing them and the O2 but I'm trying to figure out if the O2 will pair well with the 600Ohm version...

I have the 600s and it sounds great on the o2. I pretty much don't use my other hps because of them.

Uh oh. I might end up getting them and an O2...  I was originally looking at stuff at a lower price point, but now? I'll need to save up a bit. biggrin.gif

Yeah, same here but look at it this way, the next upgrade for the dt880s is the beyer T1s. You're probably not upgrading from those for a while. biggrin.gif Just dacs and amps for me at this point.

I've even heard some people say they got the T1 and it was different enough from the DT880 that it just didn't check all the same boxes for them. I definitely want to try a T1 with my equipment some time, though.

True... Dang it guys! You're supposed to try to deter me from the expensive stuff! tongue.gif

How about this:

I've heard the T1 (but only for a few minutes!), I couldn't understand why I would want to pay all that extra money for a slightly better sounding DT880.

OTOH, it could have been the amp I was using with it, I seem to remember the amp was nothing special.

This was at a head Fi meet several months ago, so the model of the amp is lost in my memory banks!wink_face.gif
