cables for XLR

Hello I'm about to make some interconnects for XLR plugs. Can I use any old standard RCA cable or specifically one thats digitally Balanced? Whats the difference anyhoo?? Thanks

xlrs use 3 terminals, generally people use microphone cable

shield to the ground, one for hot, and one for cold.

This should be of some help ... any shielded 2 core cable or 3 core cable will do just fine.
