wow power strip killed sound quality! - Page 2

I got a hum when I ran my turntable and power supply and phono stage into an AudioPrism Generation III line power conditioner and filter (pretty expensive). The only way to get rid of it was to lift the ground. I am going to try and experiment with running a copper wire from my 3rd prong on the outlet conduit box to my cold water pipe in the bathroom (through the wall, through the linen closet...into the sink cabinet).

If you don't need filtration, Wiremold makes a good power strip with no filters or even a switch to muck up the sound. ( See http://www5.head-fi.org/forums/showt...light=wiremold) Naim recommend it for their components.
