so, i'm looking for a reasonably priced computer system for under 150, here is my idea. I will pay for the Klipsch and use my wells fargo reward points for the Tamp.

thats not under $150, but if you get a new acoustic research s10 from ebay it would be. have to spend something from the cable too. but at $120, there are quite a few good value bookshelves speakers at that price.

true, but that's why i'm on the internet trying to find where the deals are. the SB10 is 89 on ebay. is it a good system?
ps: it really only has to beat the Klipsch Promedia 2.0 for me to be happy with it.

Mission M30i from Amazon for under 100 bucks or the M31i for 125 bucks. only problem you might have is the lack of efficiency when pairing with the T-amp. But I have the M30is and I love them and I am sure they will beat the socks off of the Klipsch 2.0 setup.

Any chance you could tell me how easyily these are powered? I've got a project going and am trying to get some easily run bookshelf speakers to run with a t-amp. Gonna stuff it all in a modded/altered backpack and have fun with it. Any info would be great!

sorry to hijack the thread a little...

shure thing, i could always use more info. from what i do know is that the Klipsch bookshelf speakers are some of the most effecient around. The AR S10 is also pretty efficient. i havn't looked at the Missions yet though.
I can't find the Missions from any US reseller.

A bit more expensive, but if you can find them at a good price used the Polk Audio RTi4's sound awesome out of the T-Amp.

The Polk RTi series works great with the T-Amp. Their sensitivities aren't in the >90 dB/watt range, but they're easy loads to drive. Circuit City occasionally has open box ones for a lot lower than retail.

Help

Problem: I'm audtioning the energy C C-1 speakers tomorrow. but i don't know how to do that since i don't have the T-amp yet, they dont' have it at target (i'll have to order it online).
also, should i consider any other amp?
I couldn't find a decent deal on the Polk speakers online....

if you are just using the bookshelves in your bedroom, a speaker with 88db sensitivity in my opinion the tamp can handle to a loud enough volume.

apparently sonic impact has a power adapter. will this be enough for the Tamp?

Sorry for the delayed answer

I am sorry that I cant answer this question. I have driven them with a 45watt per channel amp since I got them. Never hooked them up to anything with less power.

The amp I have doesnt seem to need to work hard to drive them, But I dont know if thats the nature of the amp or the easy load of the speakers.

aside from the t-amp to bookshelf speakers idea, i'm also toying with the idea of getting powered monitors like the M-Audio BX5a (found as low as 230) or DX4. any ideas how these sound compared to the bookshelf speakers already discussed?
