HD580 Cable Replacement

Are there any members who make / sell HD580 cable replacements? The "off the shelf" replacement cables from Cardas, etc. seem too expensive to me.

Thanks!

Wow - Sorry

Not sure what is going on. Sorry about all the posts. I tried once and got a failure message and then one more time (different subject) and got all of these.

Weird.

Yeah I was lookin for a replacement cable too. People recommended the HD650 cable from Sennheiser. The only problem is SennUSA doesnt get them till Dec. 19th, and it probably won't get to you till next year (if you're on US West coast like me).

Otherwise it's a steal at $15 shipped...

Senn HD650 Replacement Cables

Are the HD650 cables different than the stock HD580s? What's the difference? Have you tried them and do they sound different?

Is it really worth the cost to replace the HD580 cable?

Thanks,

Tim

The HD650 cables are better. Not to mention CHEAPER too!

the 650 cable is thicker and has superior connectors. Its just an overall sturdier cable. Theres no comparison between the stock 580 cable and the stock 650.

The equivelant scenario would be those stock chicken wire that comes free with the speakers? thats the 580 cable.

If I was on a budget, Id jump on the 650 stock cable in a heart beat and burn the 580 cable .

the only thing is Sennhesier is almost ALWAYS backordered on 650 cables.

I think the last batch I ordered had to be shipped from the UK to America, to fill in all the back orders, since the packaging was different.

Many Thanks for a Great Tip

Great tip, all of you, on the stock HD650 cable as a cost-effective ($11) upgrade to the stock HD580 cable. It took about a month to get the order. The pleasant surprise is that the sound with the HD650 cable is not a different sound, but that everything I already like about the sound from the HD580 (with the stock HD580 cable) is coming through more fully, abundantly and effortlessly with the stock HD650 cable. It's very much like the difference obtained when switching the stock power cable on the Behringer DEQ2496 to a Volex 14 AWG cable (and that was a $7 cable).

Myth: Head-Fi is a wallet buster.
Myth Explosion: Not when you can find tips that offer this kind of sonic improvement for around $10. Now, I've got to buy a pair of those RS-1 that I was reading about on that other thread ... (where DID I put that Ramen coupon?)

yeah I don't really understand why the hd650 cables are cheaper than the ones for the 580 and 600. Perhaps its because they charge more for the 650s and less people have them? I also noticed they upped the prices for the cushions supply and demand I guess.

How does the HD650 cable compare to the HD600 cable?
Thanks.
