SQ: Mini Vs. RCA?

All things being equal, quality of the jacks, quality of the cables, amps, sources, headphones, etc. is there any difference in sound quality between using a mini jack input on an amp and RCA inputs?

The reason I ask is that I have the Larocco Pocket Reference II and it has both Mini and RCA inputs. I have a very good quality mini cable and I think it sounds fantastic, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to invest in a higher quality mini - RCA cable. My main source is the Headroom Micro DAC.

RCA's can have a bigger contact area and accomidate wider gauge wires, so I imagine it would be a little better. I don't think you'd much if any difference though

RCA plugs (can) use separate grounds, vs. a common ground with miniplugs... the difference could conceivably be audible, but in most cases probably not.
