if you want to keep the cable, get a resistor lead, shove one end into wire near headphone, other into near jack, and dump solder onto the resistor lead.. the solder should connect the two, repeat and heatshrink

You will have much better luck reconnecting them if you remove the enamel from the wires.

(I just burn it off with a lighter)

Yep, the colors on those cheaper/thin senn cables are enamel coated. You'll need to burn off the coating some how. There are a few methods:

Using a solder pot

Using a soldering iron (some enamel can be really stubborn, and wont' burn off very easily)

Using a lighter: This method works, it just turns the cables blackish, and if you don't clean it up properly, solder takes a bit of work to get stuck.

HEY thanks a ton ..i did the same just

stripped the wires ...

burnt the enamel of wires by a matchstick...

reattached the wires ...

twisted it firmly and finally

taped it with an electric tape

and voila .....its back to normal...

thanks again
