Well, this weekend I did an extensive inventory of all my portable gear and after a lot of thinking decided to part with some stuff that I don't use often. Here is the deal.

1. Sony D345 discman ca. 1997
This is one of these older Sony models. Here are some of the features and specs.
-2x15 mW headphone amp (sounds very good too)
-10 sec linear shock protection (defeatable)
- line out
-two position mega bass plus off
-defeatable resume, plus all the other ordinary features one has in a Sony PCDP (hold, AVLS etc)
-Battery life is between 7-11 hours on two rechargable AA depending on volume and use of ESP
I bought the unit somewhere in 1997 I guess, and used it until I got into MD. Back then it was one of the top end models and costed about 170 USD. The unit has a couple of minor scratches of the paint on the lid, but everything works perfectly.

2. Sennheiser MX500 earbuds. These are basically new. Has about 15 hours of play time

3. Kodak K200W NiCd/NiMH battery charger. Also brand new. For US users, note that this is a world model (hence the W in the name) i.e. it works everywhere between 100 and 240 V. It comes with European datachable plug but you can plug any power cord ar a plug adaptor into it. This is a so called "smart" or microprocessor controlled charger. It uses -dV detection to terminate charging, i.e. you can never overcharge you batteries. Works with 2 or 4 AA or AAA cells. Charging time 3-8 hours depending on bat. capacity

4. 4 1600 mAh Sanyo Twicell AA-size rechargable batteries. Basically new. Has about 5-7 cycles.

I will sell everything as one package only.
Price: 65 USD.

Please send me a PM or reply here if interested

Edit: I will ship everywhere in the world with first class priority mail.

Hmmm... no interest whatsoever. A bit surprising, providing that everyone is praising these older Sony machines so much. I don't know if this particular model is rated by the PCDP "gurus"as legendary, but it is undoubtedly a good one. Perhaps it has something to do with my European location Hope it is not a distrust.
Anyhow, after a listeting session with KSC35 and the D345 last night, I'll probably decide to keep it. There is nothing on the market today that can sound even close to D345 from the headphone out.

shipping

Does the 65 dollar price include shipping. If not, any idea how much it would to to ship to NY (zip code 12077 if this helps)

Usually, I pay for the shipping and you cover the small fee associated with the money transsfer (in this case it will be about 5-6 USD.)
Since the package will be havier this time (i've shipped phones before to some head-Fiers) the shippment will be about 12-15 USD, but I am ready to cover that.

Hi, I have some questions about the D-345. Does it have an Optical out? and does it have an 1bit DAC ?
What about the sound if you compare it to a D-33, D-303, or some reference point that you have?
Thanks in advance!
