KSC-35 Appreciation Thread Attempt (hd-595 un-appreciation post, mostly, sorry) - Page 3

Resurrecting my thread.

I am probably going to get the sr-225s soon. I have decided that while the hd-595s are great as neutral headphones that work at least decently well with all kinds of music, they just lack the fun and impact of the ksc-35s. I am finding myself craving that in my listening, so I end up using the ksc-35s quite frequently. However, I think that the overall sound quality of the ksc-35s is just not good enough (besides this, mine are also slightly defective: the are louder in the left phone than in the right), so, the sr-225 is my next purchase. Fun, strong impact, and great sound quality, all together in one package; sounds ideal. I am ordering from Todd's so that I get a 30 day money back guarantee to fall back on in case they don't offer me what I want.

This thread is becoming my damn blog.

Hmm, as long as you like your 35, you might try and see if Koss will still honor their warranty. I mean, I know they're out of production, but they still acknowledge them in the web warranty form. You might luck out

Well, I just received my sr-225s and really like them so far, so I don't care about my ksc-35s anymore.

Actually, I have discovered that the imbalance is caused by my amp; I noticed the same imbalance with the sr-225s. Not a big problem, though - I just need to set the amp at volume 5 or above, and the imbalance disappears.

The ksc-35s and my current amp will be good to use with whatever mp3 player I decide to get in the future.

I'm glad to hear there is nothing wrong with your Kosses. They're too good of a tiny, discontinued portable to let go to waste.

I hope those 225s are working out for you as well.

I have similar "I think the left is louder" problems sometimes, but it turns out that I'm just imagining things. My receiver will let me flop the stereo L-R to R-L and when I do things seem just fine...
