Hello! Since the stickied thread is closed, I thought we could all share our swaps and thanks here! EdipisReks hooked me up with Bjork's Vespertine, and I took a stab that he didn't have Sigur Ros' Takk yet, and he didn't! Long Live Iceland! Thanks again EdipisReks! And thanks to Zanth for all the great effort to pair everyone up, including us!

I just went shopping for the gift CD and it hit me why this is such a good idea. It's like The Beatles song Taxman...
Let me tell you how it will be. There's one for you, nineteen for me.
Anyway, me and looser101 sort of decided to turn each other on to new things. I wanted to send Hillary Hahn's Bach Concertos, but the Virgin Megastore wanted $19 for it, so I'm sending my used copy along with the obligatory new CD, "Big Easy Strut: The Essential Professor Longhair". That'll teach him.
The other 19? Well, only 9 really.
CPE Bach, Sonanat & Rondos, Mikhail Pletnev
Chopin, Complete Mazurkas, Frederich Chiu
Rimksy Korsakov, Scheherazade; Tchaikovsky, 1812, Riccardo Mutu
(Why is 1812 so popular to pair with Scheherazade? I got the same on Deutsche Grammaphone)
Johann Strauss II, Blue Danube + Strauss Waltzes, Ormandy
Zoltan Kodaly, Hary Janos, Dances of Galanta, Peacock Variations, Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra
Mozart, Violin Sonatas (Hillary hahn & Natalie Zhu)
CPE Bach, Symphonies for Strings, Trevor Pinnock
Tomaso Albinoni, Concertos & Sonatas (EMI Classics)
Dr. John and the lower 911: sippiana hericane (Couldn't get Fess without Dr John)
Can we sign up for this more than once? I need to shopping again.

Shouldn't this thread be reserved for those who have already completed their exchanges. Wouldn't want anyone ruining the suprise.

hehe, well Stephenovich and I decided on 2 CDs for under $25 + postage.
One from the wanted list
One of Surprise Element
I sent him a wanted list that i narrowed down to about 40 cds haha, he got me one of those as well as a female vocal trip-hop artist that isnt Bjork or Portishead *suspension*
He was after some Lacuna Coil, which funnily enough is right up my alley, and I happen to have all of their releases, picked out the best one and got him that along with something along the same lines, but a bit more out there
edit: yeah we should have each others stuff in a week or so.

...and Pink's CD shipped yesterday should be arriving anywhere from 3 - 13 days from today.
This exchange thing is such a great idea.

Woohoo!
I'm working from home today and just received my CDs(!) from PinkFloyd. After debating for about a minute whether I should save the package to put under the yet-to-be-purchased Christmas tree, I decided to rip open the package.
The first CD is "Ca Ira," an opera by Roger Waters. This gift is very clever because Pink looked at my profile and saw that I like both classical and classic rock.
The second CD is a group called Shpongle, which I've never heard of, but based on some quick googling, I am really psyched to listen to.
PinkFloyd rocks!

Both the Shpongle and Waters CD will take a bit of time to get into, I'm still trying to get into my copy of Ca Ira... pretty hard going but to a classical buff like yourself it'll be a lot easier
Have a merry Christmas Vincent!
All the best.
Mike.

Tried using Fed Ex yesterday to get 2 lousy CDs from New York to Canada and they wanted $54 US. Hey, I know the US Peso ain't worth much these days, but damn!... Well, at least the US government is in denial, so the post office only asked for 3 pesos & 10 posatos. Downside is 7-10 days instead of 3-4 days.
Err... they're not really lousy CDs, but I'll leave that for looser101 to decide.

Although a couple of weeks ago my jewel case came apart due to opening it so many times... Is it time to buy another copy?
And as far as the music swap goes, I haven't had time to get to a record store yet. Sorry Dennison. Tomorrow looks good though, as the weekend switch is now officially in the On position.
