PA2V2- $60 shipped

For those looking for a portable headphone amp that's pretty well-received by this community here, Gary sells his PA2V2s for $60, shipping included. After having read so many good things on this forum, I finally decided to bid on one (on Ebay they normally go for $70-$80 + another $5- shipping) but I read somwhere you can get them directly for $60- and it's true! He just emailed me back and indeed offers them for that price.

Anyways, I just wanted to give a general heads-up to anyone interested. Gary seems like a really nice, professional guy and I can't wait to get my little amp! Oh and by the way, this is the LAST thing I'm buying! lol...

His email address: gary@electric-avenues.com

His items on Ebay: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZgrans-arQQhtZ-1

What mini cable are you using?

Seconded. Gary's a great guy to deal with, and it's a wonderful little amp, if a little bass-heavy for my tastes. Goes great with KSCs or Grados imho.

But do yourself a favor and pick up a $3 Belkin mini-to-mini cable to replace the craptastic interconnect that comes supplied.

About the mini-cable (an exerpt from an email from Gary):

"I used to include
a black 6" cable and it was doing good for a long
time. Then I think I must have received a bad shipment
on the last order because many people said they were
having connection issues with this cord. This didn't
happen to everyone, I would say the rate was about 1
in 10. This was way too high for me to accept so I
stopped ordering those cables and found a different
one. The new cable is built by ATI, the same company
that builds video cards. These cables are $15 but
because I bought a couple hundred at once, the price
per cable really came down. You'll get one of these
new cables, they are much better than the old ones."

I'll try it out and see- if not, then I appreciate the advice w/ the Belkin!

I bought amp #5xx back in February, he's up to #1,774 now

I'm curious as to what the ATI mini cable looks like

Gary's a great guy, he sent a PA2 to me before he got my money-is that the norm?

I like the added bass with the PA2, works well with my E4c.

I think I paid by PayPal. I believe he accepts different forms of payments. Money Order / Check would be my guess as another alternative.

He accepted a credit card from me

I never thought that I would want a portable amp, but this price is tempting. I am curious to how the sound would improve with my M3. I guess this is how it starts for all head-fiers.

I used paypal to purchase mine. If you were an iPod person I'd recommend the Turbodock II, stunning SQ out of my 4G's line out.

PA2V2

It's a great little amp, I've bought 3 of them from Gary, one for me (like I really needed it!), and one for each of my sons. Gary is great to deal with and shipped the amp quickly. My oldest son is teaching English in South Korea and he re'cd his amp very quickly!

I paid through PayPal.
