How flexible is the Equinox cable?

I'm considering getting the Stefan AudioArt Equinox cable. I am wondering how flexible this wire is.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being unflexible, 10 very flexible(for example, 1 is the Clou, 10 is the stock) where would the Equinox fit in? I found the Cardas rather stiff and unwieldy.

It is an 8...competely flexible, but not rubber coated as the stock cable is...therefore a feeling of it being more delicate than the stock, but not to the point of concern...very well constructed. The cable is twisted wires in what I will call a fabric "sock"...it looks great...it sounds great.

It's quite supple. 7 or 8 might be about right. One thing to keep in mind is that the exposed white Teflon where the cable splits off to each driver is microphonic. You will hear it brushing against your clothing when shifting about.

Thanks very much guys!

I'd rank it 8 or 9 myself. The cable is sheathed in Techflex material, which is quite slippery...the best way I'd describe the cable is that it's "snakey". Flexibility is absolutely not a problem...in fact I've got the excess cable coiled up in a tight loop near the plug to keep it out of the way, certainly not something you could've ever done with the Clou. My only gripe if anything with the Equinox is that the 1/4th plug it uses is simply too long in size. It's gotta be the biggest 1/4th inch plug I've seen to date.

Oh dear. I hate excess mass/length on plugs too. Juts out and you risk hitting it or bumping it, along with the amp. Oh well..

The plug they use really isnt any more bulky then the Cardas plugs or others out there... it might be a bit longer then some but its not as heavy...

I really like the neutrik plugs. Below is a shot of just how "big and bulky" it really is

Hey...I see that the portion of the wire that leads to the two Sennheiser plugs is now wrapped in some kind of rubber material. Boy I wouldn't mind that for mine, I kind of wonder just how much bending and flexing the exposed white twisted wires on mine could take. I guess that's the newer version of the Equinox.

I would like to know whether it is still microphonic in this version. Every now an then I get the urge to order one (low priority though) and the mere thought of having microphonics always puts me off. Not that I would much when using the big Senns, but anyway ...

I would rather guess that that cable has undergone some modifications by Zach himself . That shrink there over the Y-split looks like it could say Enigma Audio.

Yah the Senn cable would be one I made.... the pic was for plug reference just to show that it really isnt all too big.

sorry for the confusion.

Ahh ok...it's just that cable also had the same techflex material and the same plug as the Equinox so I just assumed it was the Equinox.

Depends upon your reference point, and where at on the cable. From the headphone connectors back about 4-6" is is quite rigid, and when looking down they hit my shoulders. I would say about 4-5 for that part. The rest is still quite a bit more unmanagable than the stock cable, like about 6-7 to me. After using some Stax headphones with their 6-wire design, everything else is much more flexible and less ungainly.
